Texas Education Agency requires changes to the PEIMS reporting for the Fall 2021 submission. There are no changes needed for the Class Roster.

• Campus screen - removed checkboxes and replaced them with a coded field with appropriate values.
• Personnel Information - added a new tab for creditable service years on the personnel information.
• XML Report - added these new/updated fields to the XML submission files.

Modified the Texas TEAM reporting for retirement to handle the mandated changes for Surge Personnel Reporting.

1. For the Maintain Retirement ER20/ER25/ER27 records, we provided the additional statuses for the Employment Type field: E-Surge Personnel Exception, B = Non-Profit Tutor Substitute, N = Non-Profit Tutor Half Time or Less, and T = Non-Profit Tutor Full Time
2. For the Maintain Retirement ER20/ER25/ER27 Records - Third Party Retiree records, we provided the additional statuses for the Employment Type field: E-Surge Personnel Exception, B = Non-Profit Tutor Substitute, N = Non-Profit Tutor Half Time or Less, and T = Non-Profit Tutor Full Time
3. We modified the Maintain Retirement ER20/ER25/ER27 Records. Third Party Retiree options allow multiple records per employee (SSN), TRS Position Code, and Employment Type to be added, saved, searched for, and displayed without error.
4. In addition to the existing Employee Types in TX TEAM Report - Position Defaults Crosswalk, we have allowed the new Employees types to be added, entered, saved, and searched: E-Surge Personnel Exception, B = Non-Profit Tutor Substitute, N = Non-Profit Tutor Half Time or Less, and T = Non-Profit Tutor Full Time are in the search criteria, data array, and record detail sections.
5. The TX TEAM Report - Load TEAM Records option creates multiple retiree records based on definitions in the Position Defaults Crosswalk and a retiree being paid to multiple employment type and TRS Position Code combinations.
6. Modifications to the Upload Actual Hours have also been made to support the new Employee Types:

1. Actual hours are uploaded to the correct ER record based on employment type, position, job class, and pay code.
2. If an employee has hours for multiple tutor employment types, an error is reported in the log file. Per the Texas customers meeting, an employee should only be reported in one Tutor employment type.
3. If an input row doesn't match a default employment type based on its position/job class/pay code, then it is treated as 'standard' - it will update an existing ER20 with employment type S, P, F, M. There should only be one for an employee within a period.
4. ER 25 will continue to be created or updated as currently done, matching to the correct employment type per the rules above.
5. ER 27 adjustments will continue to be created or updated as currently done, matching to the correct employment type per the rules above.
6. Note that Hours are updated when present in the input file. Days are only updated if hours are blank (and then there are other conditions where hours aren't updated)
